Presentations were very interesting....again of course

Of course we all did a very good job on all of our presentations, i will not nit-pick at each one, because i don't like to do that, so i will just say "bravo" fellow classmates! We need give ourselves a pat on the back because we all did a very good job. The presentations were all very interesting and i look forward to visiting all the wikispaces to read more on them! Great job again....WE DID IT!!!

Chapter 4 - Wikis: Easy Collaboration For All

If blogs are about conversation and wikis are about collaboration/content, which of the following student projects would you use each tool for? Why?

novel study with author participation
students at two first nations schools in New Brunswick and British Columbia recording and sharing native stories and music
daily science journal
student creative writing with peer review

I would use the one with students at two first nations' schools in New Brunswick and British Columbia recording and sharing native stories and music, because it will give a different point of view of two different schools, and maybe even nationalities. They may have different stories and music when the languages are different. It would also give other "reserves" a chance to comment on and add on as well. Wikipedia is a good tool for sharing stories and for others to add on or share as well.

Is Technology Making Us Lazy?

Technology is changing so rapidly, that things that used to work say around ten years ago do not work today. For example just look at camera's for example, we used to have to take in tons of film and now we just do on our computers or email from our digital camera's...my point being, you don't even have to go anywhere to get your pictures developed anymore!!! It can all be done by the touch of your hands!

Will Paper Really Not Be Necessary In Schools & Businesses? Is It A Good Thing Or A Bad Thing?

In the future, we will not need text books or paper to print out assignments or projects, technology will take over and computers will be used for everything! For example, just look at how outdated the textbooks in our schools are now. Businesses use the internet more now than ever. Students will not have to learn to write by hand, which will be a downfall of technology taking over. They will only have to type out assignments, instead of writing them out by hand. How will we teach without them learning to actually make the letter "b" by hand, and not with a computer? On one hand it is a good thing about technology being used so much in schools for textbooks and such, but on the other hand it will make students more dependant on computers for everday life, and not have to even learn to handwrite!!! What do you think about this? How is this going to affect our schools, our children?

Today's Technology In Today's Classrooms

There is alot more technology in today's classrooms than, say ten years ago. Just saying that makes me feel so old! Today's technology is so overwhelming and helpful at the same time. Even though technology has come a long way, in tonight's class technology just slowed us down!!! LOL So, I guess technology has its positive sides to it and also has its negative.

First Class of pt.2!!!

I really enjoyed the video thingy about how computers are gonna take over the world!!! LOL...thats what it seemed like it was trying to say anywayz!!! I especially liked the ending "shift happens" LOL

WELL DONE CLASSMATES!!!

Wow! Everybody did such a good job on their presentations that I just had to write on my blog. To some of us, it was very nerve-racking but we got it done! I learned something new from each of the presentations and look forward to learning new things. Good luck on pt2 of the course everyone!!

Computers pt.1??? How do you think you did? :P

I'm not sure how I did with part one of computers' course!! Hopefully I didn't fail it! It was different from the other course we took...it makes a difference when you have the instructor at your site...your mind stays on the subject instead of not knowing what the heck is going on!!! LOL what did u think of the course??? I found it hard to concentrate, but that's just my opinion! I find it hard to stay focused, especially after a "long" day at work!!!

What I Did On March Break

My family and I went to Fredericton to visit with family and friends. I got to see my beautiful neice Layla Rayne. She is growning so fast and getting smarter each time I see her! I got to see my dad and step-mom and also my brothers, whom I hardly ever get to see. It was a very good visit indeed!

Nevermind...LOL

We did our presentation and it went pretty good. I guess we didn't need to trade with anyone afterall! We even volunteered to go first...hehehe

Just a Thought!!

It really makes a difference when you have the instructor at your site!!! In our last course we were lucky enough to have had the instructor with us at our site. Don't get me wrong, I'm still learning, but sometimes it gets hard to stay on track!

Mother's Are Precious, So Respect Them While They're Here

This is just a subject that I had to write about! I often see other people disrespecting their mother's and this just gets me so angry, because they should always respect their moms no matter what! They are not always going to be here, and when they're gone, then they'll wish that they had treated their moms a hell of alot better! I lost my mom when I was twelve, so I missed out on alot of things with my mom, but I will always have happy memories about her, and the good times we had! Just think of a happier place this world would be if the proper respect was given to every mom on this earth! Just thought I would share this very private thought with you.

Notebook vs. Laptop?

This is more than a question than a comment, are "Notebooks" different from "Laptops"? And is one better than the other? I'd appreciate any kind of feedback about this. I know it may sound like a stupid question, but I just had to ask it!

Will Computers Take Over The Jobs Of Teachers Someday?

The internet has everything you could ask for. Picture it; many years from now, everything being computer operated, there will be no need to have teachers in a class rooms, they will all be computerized! Or will, someday, students just have to turn on a computer and not have to step into a school? It's just a thought...but can it really happen? Something to think about!! :p

Do you think that people should get your permission before they put your picture all over facebook? Sometimes even though you ask someone not to put it on Facebook, they still do. I wish there was some way that they had to get your permission before they put your picture all over the internet!!! What are your thoughts?

Just a little thought or question...just when you think you're alright with today's "technology", they come up with something new and it throws you all off!!!! Will we ever keep up with today's ever changing technology? Or are we destined to be lost in the world of technology???
